Social Media Trends For Small Businesses To Follow In 2020
In an increasingly digital world, even the smallest businesses can benefit greatly from strategic social media marketing
campaigns. Understanding how to best engage with users across various social platforms can have a massive impact on the success of your
business. Here are some of the top social media trends for your small business to follow this year. Contact

Stick to Core Channels
It may be tempting to create a page on every platform, thinking that you are going to saturate social media and be seen everywhere, but it
is a better plan to stick to the ones that get the best results for your business, and do them well. Sticking to a well managed Facebook
campaign (if
applicable) can yield much better results than stretching yourself over many platforms that just aren’t worth it to your business. You want
to be where your customers are.
Visual Content is Key
Social media posts are expected to include visuals these days. If your post doesn’t include an eye-catching video or image, chances are that
users are not going to stop scrolling to read what your post says. Even if you have wonderfully written content, it is not going to get the
attention it deserves without a graphic. Use images or videos that are relevant to your content. If you are finding it hard to get your
message across with stock images, try using a photo or video of one of your staff, or a happy customer with your product, or receiving your
services (with their permission, of course!)
Personal Content
One of the advantages smaller businesses have over big box is a personal touch. Create content with a friendly, conversational tone, rather
than being too formal or commercial. Share personal stories on your page to keep yourself relatable as a business owner. Engage with your
customers and take the time to respond to comments, questions, and reviews on your posts. You want to nurture your relationships with your
customers and gain their loyalty and trust in your business.
Stay Current
Make sure to actually update your social media pages. Keep your followers informed of any changes to your hours, policies, or products. If a
best-selling product goes out of stock, let your customers know that it is temporarily unavailable, and when it will be back. If you have to
cut back your hours (due to a global pandemic, for example) update your social media to reflect that.
Be Consistent
No matter what platform (or platforms) you choose, be consistent. Put the time and effort into your social media campaigns that they need
to be effective for you. Post regularly, communicate with your customers, and be present. If you don’t have the time to manage 3 well
managed campaigns across 3 different platforms, don’t. Stick to the one that yields the best results and give it your full attention.

Creating a successful website is kind of like running a circus where SEO and UX are your star performers. SEO attracts the audience, making
sure people know about the show and come in droves. UX, on the other hand, is all about keeping the audience entertained, ensuring they
enjoy every moment and want to come back for more.
